Sept 6 - Varsity Football
The Knights were at home on Friday night to host the Cavaliers from St. John's Christian Academy. At one time, these two teams were long-time rivals, but several years ago the rivalry ended when the Cavaliers moved up from Region I (8-man) to Class 1A. The last time these two teams faced each other was 10 years ago in the 2014 season.
Converting on the points after touchdowns has been a season-long problem, and once again this proved to be fatal for the Knights and was ultimately the difference in the game. On the first possession of the game, the Cavaliers' offense came out hot and easily drove down the field. A long pass that covered 25 yards in the air, resulted in a 46 yard touchdown completion for the Cavaliers. On their first possession, the Knights' offense drove down the field, but the drive stalled deep in Cavaliers territory. After the Knights shut down the Cavaliers offense, the Knights drove down the field again with the benefit of a couple of big run plays. The Knights scored on this possession and tied the score. The Cavaliers came right back and, with the benefit of another big pass play, scored again. The Knights began the second quarter down by 7 points. The second quarter was mostly a defensive battle, but each team did manage 1 touchdown and the Knights went to half-time down by 8 points. The defensive battle continued into the third quarter with both teams unable to move the ball on their first possession. During the Knights' second possession with 7:18 left in the third quarter, a transformer in one of the light poles blew-out, which knocked out all the lights. The field was in complete darkness. After a 33-minute delay, about 85% of the lights were restored and the game was able to continue. This delay appeared to have affected each team differently. The Knights appeared to be "run down" and reacted very slow and sluggish. The Cavaliers were running on all cylinders and dominated the remaining 7 minutes of the third quarter by scoring two touchdowns and one field goal. The Knights were now down by 24 points going into the fourth quarter. The shock of the third quarter ignited the Knights and they completely dominated the fourth quarter. Their defense shut down the Cavaliers and allowed 0 points. The Knights offense scored 3 fourth quarter touchdowns. The Knights failed to convert on four of their five extra point attempts, which cost them 8 points and a win. They lost the game to the Cavaliers by 4 points. Box scores are posted on the team page.

Aug 30 - Varsity Football
The Knights traveled to Dorchester Academy to take on the Raiders. Dorchester Academy is a bigger school and the Raiders are in Class 2A, so the Knights were not expected to win or compete in a close game. The game went basically as expected as the Raiders went to halftime up by 41 points. The Knights got in some good practice, but were defeated by 27 points. Box scores are posted on the team page.

Aug 29 - Volleyball
The Lady Knights were at home on Thursday night to face their long-time rivals, the Cavaliers from St. John's Christian Academy. The JV Ladies played a close and tense game #1. The first game looked as if it might go to overtime, but the Lady Knights lost the last two points and lost game 1 by two points. This loss seemed to ignite the Lady Knights as they came back to defeat the Cavaliers in the next two games to win the match 2 games to 1. The JV Ladies are now 2-3 on the season. For the Varsity Ladies, this was their worst performance of the season. They had a very difficult time breaking serve, and when they did, they were unable to retain their serve. They lost the first three games by double digits and lost the match to the Cavaliers 3 games to 0. The Varsity Lady Knights are still winless for the season. Box scores for JV and Varsity are posted on the team page.

Aug 27 - Volleyball
The Lady Knights were at home on Tuesday night to face the Generals. This was their first divisional match of the season. The JV Ladies started strong and defeated the Generals in game 1. They played a good second game, but came up a few points short. The Lady Knights made numerous unforced errors in game 3 which resulted in a double-digit loss. The Generals won the match 2 games to 1. The Varsity Lady Knights played a decent and competitive match, but were just "out played" by the Generals. The Lady Knights lost all 3 games by a total of 14 points. Box scores are posted on the team page.

Aug 26 - Volleyball
The Lady Knights took a trip to Hollywood on Monday night to take on the Gators at Lowcountry Leadership Charter. Due to a car crash that resulted in a road closure, the Lady Knights were about 2-1/2 hours late for the game. The referee arrived minutes after the Lady Knights. As a result of the delay, the referee allowed the JV Ladies to play only one game. The JV Ladies seemed unprepared and suffered a double-digit loss to the Gators. The match was scored as 1 game to 0 for the Gators. The Varsity Ladies got off to a rough start and dropped game one by 10 points. They came to life in game 2 and played extremely well, but lost by 2 points. Game 3 was also a very well played game for the Lady Knights, but they came up short by 5 points and lost the match 2 games to 1. Box scores are posted on the team page.

Aug 23 - Varsity Football
The Knights scored a season opening divisional victory one week ago and were looking to continue their winning ways. This was not meant to be. The Bobcats scored first on a two-play, 50-yard drive. Later in the first quarter, they added another score and took a 12 point lead into the second quarter. Overall, the Knights played a good game defensively, but gave up several huge plays that resulted in touchdowns by the Bobcats. The Knights' offense was almost non-existent. In the first three quarters, the Knights got very few first downs and never crossed the 50-yard line. Their first score of the game was a 74 yard kick-off return for a touchdown to start the third quarter. The offense did show some signs of life in the fourth quarter, and they added one more score. They lost to the Bobcats by 22 points. Box scores are posted on the team season results page.

Aug 22 - Volleyball
The Lady Knights traveled to Holy Trinity to take on the Mighty Lions. After a season opening victory one week ago, the JV Ladies had hopes of continuing their success. Game 1 was very competitive and went to overtime. The Lady Knights lost by 2 in overtime. This loss seemed to affect them mentally as they lost game 2 by 13 points and lost the match to the Mighty Lions 2 games to 0. The Varsity Ladies were not as competitive in this match as they were in their opening season match. They played only one close game, which they lost by 3 points. They were defeated by the Mighty Lions 3 games to 0. Box scores are posted on the team season results page.

Aug 16 - Varsity Football
The Knights moved up from SCISA Region I (8-man) to SCISA Class 1A for the '24 - '26 seasons. This is the first time in school history the Knights have been in Class 1A, which is 11-man. For the coaches, this means creating a completely new play-book and game preparation. For the players, it is new and uncharted waters. The Knights opened the season on the road in a divisional game against the Warriors at Andrew Jackson Academy. The first half was a tight and defensive battle. Both teams scored once in the first quarter. The Knights failed to convert the extra point attempt and trailed the Warriors by 2 points after the first quarter. The second quarter was all defense and neither team was able to score, so the Knights were down by 2 at the half. The defensive battle continued through the third quarter, but the Warriors did score once in the quarter and took a 10 point lead into the fourth quarter. The Knights offense came to life in the fourth quarter, scoring 3 touchdowns, while their defense gave up just 1 touchdown. The Knights managed to convert only 1 extra point out of 4 attempts, but this was enough to defeat the Warriors by 2 points. Congratulations to the Knights on their season-opening victory in their first ever 11-man game.

Aug 15 - Volleyball
The Lady Knights moved up from SCISA Class 1A to SCISA Class 2A for the '24 - '26 seasons. They opened their season on the road against the War Hawks at Colleton Prep. The JV Ladies played a very close and competitive game #1 and came out on top by 2 points. They struggled slightly in game #2 and lost to the War Hawks by 6 points. Game #3 was very tight and tense. The game went into overtime and the Lady Knights defeated the War Hawks by 2 points and won the non-divisional match by 2 games to 1. Congratulations to the JV Lady Knights on their season opening win. The Varsity Lady Knights played a competitive match but came up short. They dropped game #1 by 8 points and game #2 by 4 points. The Lady Knights bounced back in game #3 and won by 8 points. Although they played a very good game 4, they came up short by 3 points and lost the match to the War Hawks 3 games to 1.
