One of our core values here at Faith Christian School is to partner with Christian
parents to equip students to fulfill God’s purpose for their lives. As an educator
who has spent the last 15 years inside the classroom, particularly the last 5 years
here at FCS, this is such a vital part of what we do. When parents actively engage
with teachers and school administrators, it creates a collaborative atmosphere
that significantly enhances student learning and well-being. Research
consistently shows that students whose parents are involved in their education
tend to perform better academically and display improved social skills. When you
have effective communication between teachers and parents, it helps identify
and resolve challenges and creates a support system that goes beyond the four
walls of a classroom. And in creating that outside support system, we are helping
to involve and strengthen the school community and to ultimately spread the
Gospel to those around us. In embracing this partnership, schools not only
empower students to thrive, but also foster a sense of belonging and investment
in the community, making education a shared responsibility and a collective
journey.
At FCS, we cannot partner with our parents without first and foremost showing
the love of God to every student and family we come in contact with. Christian
education plays a vital role in shaping the moral and spiritual foundation of
students, emphasizing values such as integrity, compassion and service. It seeks
to integrate faith with learning, fostering a holistic development approach that
nurtures the intellect while grounding students in biblical principles. When we
provide that type of education to our students, we are in turn inserting that Godly
love and compassion into each and every home and family that is represented on
this campus.
In closing, I want to leave you with a scripture that I have prayed over all my
Preschool students here over the years. Numbers 6:24-26 says “The Lord bless you
and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the
Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” I have always used a
certain phrase when speaking to parents that says “a parent/teacher partnership
is key to a happy classroom and a happy home.” May we always strive for that
happy classroom and that happy home.
