Communication Matters: More Than Just Words

As we move through another school year, I’ve been thinking about something
that affects every part of our school community: communication.
Communication is more than sending an email, making an announcement, or
talking in the hallway. It is how we build trust, strengthen relationships, and
remind one another that we are part of the same community.
For parents, communication is an invitation to partner with us. We want you to
know not only when there is a concern, but also when your child is making
progress, showing kindness, working hard, or discovering a new strength.
For teachers and staff, every interaction is an opportunity to lead with grace.
Sometimes the most meaningful communication is simply listening before
responding, seeking to understand, and remembering that behind every concern

is a student who deserves our care.

James 1:19 reminds us,

“Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and
slow to become angry.
”

That is a powerful reminder to all of us. Whether we are communicating with a
parent, student, or colleague, let’s choose words that bring clarity, demonstrate

respect, and reflect Christ.

When we communicate with grace, we don’t just exchange information; we build
connection to help our students thrive. As a school community, let’s keep
listening well, speaking with kindness, and serving one another with grace.
